How to help, subject by subject

You do not need to know the syllabus. The portal tells you where to look; here is what to do once you have looked.

Maths
The portal shows: “Circle theorems keep losing marks.”
Ask them to talk you through one solved question out loud. Explaining the method is powerful revision, and you never have to remember the maths yourself.
Sciences
The portal shows: “Bioenergetics is the weakest Biology topic.”
Ask for a two minute lesson: “teach me photosynthesis like I know nothing”. If they can teach it, they know it. If they get stuck, that is tonight’s topic.
English
The portal shows: “Poetry anthology flashcards due Monday.”
Offer to do the quizzing: read a quote out, ask which poem it is from and why it matters. Ten minutes with you beats an hour alone with the book.
Languages
The portal shows: “Vocabulary keeps losing easy marks.”
Ask for the word of the day at dinner, or get them to teach you five words for the weekend. Saying it aloud to someone fixes it far better than rereading it.
History and Geography
The portal shows: “One topic is far stronger than the rest.”
Ask for the story: what happened, who changed it, why it mattered. Retelling a topic in their own words is retrieval practice disguised as a chat.
Any subject
The portal shows: “Two quiet days, then a strong Saturday.”
Notice effort, not just results. “Saturday looked like a proper session” lands better than “have you revised?”, and the calendar tells you when a nudge is fair.

Does my child need to agree to the link?

Yes. The link starts on their device: they generate a one-time code in their settings and share it with you. Either of you can unlink at any time.

Do I need to pay for a parent account?

No. Parent accounts are free. Subscriptions apply to the student account, and the free student tier includes full AI marking for one subject.

My child is at a Welsh-medium school. Does it work?

Yes. OmniStudy is fully bilingual in English and Welsh, including Welsh-medium WJEC/CBAC subjects.

What if I have more than one child?

You can link more than one child to the same parent account and switch between them.
